Honestly, I'm stressed. We have been remodeling a house for my in-laws, which has been more headaches than I ever imagined. Creating new items(when we have a free minute, not often) and trying to manage all of the online content we have out there.
All of this begins to take it's toll after awhile. I wonder sometimes how are we going to make it through today. What is going to happen tomorrow? I could ask myself this a 100 times a day. But is it really worth stressing out about? In the end I have a wonderful wife that loves and supports me. She lets me be myself without ever saying "man, you are just damn weird." well sometimes she does but we laugh about it.
At those times when we are laughing and enjoying just being around each other, I think back to all the stressful moments in the past and realize we made it. It may have been hard at the time, we could be losing our car, but in the end we have each other and are blessed to be able to share our creations with the world. So in short I guess it's not that bad after all, I mean who needs a car, lol.

A negative can turn into a positive
Hey everyone I just wanted to take some time and let everyone know what's been going on with the hippie couple. Phoenix and myself have been creating new items everyday some are posted to Artfire and others are sold and fairs and festivals. We do have some totally new items we are trying to finish to post on Artfire (the ceramic chess sets) we hope to make it in time for christmas but they have proved to be more time consuming than I had originally thought.
We recently created a fan Page on Facebook. This page's main purpose is to help connect people from all walks of life through art. Our belief is that while creating a piece you can surround it with positive energy and that energy is absorbed by that piece. By charging the creation with positive energy it is now able to pass on to whomever purchases it. Not only do we promote our items but everyone may feel free to post a link, photo, text, video or anything else that has a positive vibe to it on our fan page. Our goal is to help everyone spread positive, pure energy throughout the world.
Just the other day I posted some new items called bottle cap necklaces. These are made from reused bottle caps. I collect these bottle caps from my father in law who is an alcoholic, my thought was even though this may be a negative thing he is doing I don't have to let it be a waste. So we plan to donate a portion of all bottle cap necklace sales to a charity of your choice. Whenever you purchase a bottle cap necklace here please remember to mention your choice of charity. At the end of the month the choices will be added up and the charity with the most picks will get the donation. I will post the charity that receives the donation here onthis blog with the amount donated. I urge everyone to participate and help spread the positive energy, that lies within us throughout the world.
Do something positive today, together we can change the world.

bottle cap necklace
Sadly, my father in law is an alcoholic and has been the majority of his life. One day it hit me how to turn this negative into a positive. While their is nothing he is willing to do to help himself, I could reuse these bottle caps and pour as much positive energy into them as we can.
We would like to donate 50 cents from everyone of these we sell to a charity. The idea is to let you pick which one. So along with your order let us know the charity of your choice. Every month the choices will be added up and the most picked charity will receive the donation.
Help us spread the positive energy.

a new idea
So after 3 days of trying find some inspiration i've found it. I will scavenge the the outdoor for the supplies I need and hopefully bring this new idea to everyone later today. It's so exciting to have an idea that pops in your head and can not wait to flow outward into the realm of reality. I don't want to spoil the surprise with too much info right now. But lets just say I think everyone will flip their "tops" for this new creation I am about to bring to artfire.

Heather Kent December's featured artist
So We have chose the wonderfully talented Heather Kent to be our featured artist for December. She handpaints these wonderful water color necklaces and large paintings of dogs. you can see her work on etsy or at her blog. even keep up to date with her on twitter. Links will be listed below.
Q.) How long have you been creating and what really got you into it?
A.) I have been creating art all my life in one way or another. I started drawing and painting at a very young age, and have always had a craft I was doing, whether it was making cards, crocheting, collages, jewelry, painting, drawing, sewing or sculpting. I can't handle not having a creative project. I started making my hand painted necklaces in the end of August, and haven't looked back. :)
Q.) How would you tell someone off the street what it is you do?
A.) I tell them I make hand painted necklaces which are miniature paintings that I have glued onto a pendant and applied a clear coating for protection. I say I also do
dog portraits and other original paintings.
Q.) Is there any one thing you love to create?
A.) I honestly enjoy creating anything and everything but I absolutely LOVE making these hand painted necklaces. They are so beautiful and special and satisfying.
Q.)Where do you draw your inspiration from?
A.)Most of my pieces reflect things in general that make me happy. Nature, animals, fun objects, etc. I make a conscious effort to only make paintings and necklaces of things I would like to have in my house, or around my neck.
Q.)Do you ever want to try something but don't know how? If so what is it?
A.)Oh wow yes! There are so many projects I would absolutely LOVE to do. One of them is metal work. I would love to make my own frames, and sculptures. I also would love to have my own kiln and be able to do ceramics whenever I pleases. I could go on and on about things I would love to do, but those are the 2 main ones.
Thank you Heather please keep an eye on Heather here at these links.

featured artist starting soon
So we here at T.H.C. are going to be featuring a new artist every month (that we can find a willing participant) every once in awhile an unwilling one will do.just kidding.
What we would like to do is find out what compels the artist to create, how they feel when creating. And try to create a connection between artist and viewers so everyone can feel connected,
Basically spread positive energy throughout everyone.

Whoo getting that first sale on artfire was exciting. I got the email about 1:30 am. So excited I still haven't slept. I am inspired to create more. I just have to keep my body moving.
It's a wonderful feeling knowing that a piece of art we created will be in someones home in california. I think I am about to pass out from exhaustion though.

we are all connected
Over the past few days I have felt stronger and stronger about how everyone is on a path in life. Although, we may not stay on the exact path we were just on in life. Inevitably, all paths end in the same place.
Some paths may even cross, some may run together for awhile, and others are together from start to finish.
In short, we are all connected.

perception of time

more and more time has realyy become nothing more than a perception to us. People always ask us what time are you coming over? when you gonna get here? no we can never be late. This lovely little creation spawned from my saw blade clocks and we use recycled wrist watches that we gut and then implant polymer clay hand sand and then polish for added smoothness and shine. I love the look on people's face when they ask us for the time now.

fire dance
If you listen to the fire it makes music, it speaks to you. Watch how it moves around you and you around it. Fire dancing has to be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It is a release from the fast paced world, a gateway to inner peace. when we are are performing everything else fades away and our inner self shows through. Contact us if you would like to put on a show.

Making these were so much fun I don't know if we will ever be able to stop. Each one comes with screws and the screw holes have been countersunk for a flush fit. Each one is hand sanded through 6 stages of wet sand paper 400 through 1500 for the smoothest surface possible. Touching one is like silk.
